This has been a long time coming and there are certainly a lot of emotions swirling around the corporate headquarters right now. We appreciate your continued support and interest over the years. We think you’ll find this was worth the wait!

If you are considering supporting us, please do so early. If we can get a good head of steam behind the funding in the first day or two, then we should have a better chance of making it across the finish line. Remember, if we don’t reach our goal, we don’t collect ANY money. It is do or die time.

As a sign of our appreciation, we’d like to give you a one-day headstart on everyone else. We are telling everyone else it starts tomorrow (and asking them to ‘Send us some love’), but you can sneak over today! There are limited numbers of the higher incentives, and we can’t think of anyone else who deserves first dibs than you.

We are including four Kickstarter only promotional cards as one of the potential incentives. These will be two more animals for the Prairie and Polar habitats so that all six habitats have the same number of animals available to them. Fair’s fair!

We had intended to start the Kickstarter campaign tomorrow, but we’ve decided to push it back to February 14th so that we have enough time to send out some press releases, drum up a few interviews and tweak our Kickstarter page. We want to make sure we hit the ground running on the 14th, so stay tuned for some exciting updates!

A lot has changed in the gaming industry since we joined it seven years ago. One of the exciting changes is the arrival of social funding platforms like Kickstarter. The idea is simple; we set a funding goal and ask for your support with a variety of incentive packages. If our project reaches it before the end of the campaign, we get the funds to print the game (with Kickstarter taking a small commission). If we don’t reach our funding goals, then no money is exchanged. No harm, no foul.

For a small press game company, Kickstarter is an ideal partner. We can raise the funds needed for a game BEFORE we print it and then offer great incentives to people generous enough to support us. It is literally ‘win-win’.

In February, we will be starting a one month campaign to raise the funds for the new Nature of the Beast: Prairie Vs. Polar game. In the coming weeks we will have a lot more exciting news. We’ll be using this page as a home-base for any important developments.

This year pitted two former finalists against each other for the coveted prize. The catch… they would have to battle with the new Prairie Vs. Polar playtesting cards!

Keith Harker’s prairie animals had a slow start organizing against a near-perfect beginning from Dakotah McCalmon’s polar animals. Before Keith knew it, not only was the legendary Alpine Pete, a dastardly snow hare, putting out hits on his fledgling army, but the nigh-unstoppable polar bear, Dagobert was shambling towards his front lines. It wasn’t long before Dakotah ordered a grumpy walrus to take the field and bring him victory. But as we entered the field, the prairie animals unleashed a devastating trap; a humungous boulder wiped the walrus off the icy tundra, buying Keith time to rally his forces!

Soon, it was neck-and-neck (beak-and-beak?) and Keith sent his own legendary scorpion, Hernando the Kid to snuff out the troublesome Alpine Pete. But Alpine Pete was cunning enough to convince Hernando to save his venom for another day. With Hernando duped, the polar animals had just enough time to recruit a full army and win the game!

It was a nail-bitter to the very end and we would like to sincerely thank everyone who tried out the new cards! Their excitement and great card play bodes well for the new Battle Box!

Remember, though this is for the new Prairie Vs. Polar, it is completely backwards compatible with the first two Battle Boxes for Nature of the Beast. Why not take a look and let us know what you think?

The trap cards are going to add a whole new level of strategy to the game. You will be able to place traps in your enemy’s field that will be revealed only when one of their animals enter that field space! Although expensive to use, traps offer the opportunity to stymie all but the most clever enemy troops!

Prairie Vs. Polar will include six traps, ranging from the rather benign to the outright deadly. Watch where you step!

What you might NOT know is that eight of those will be animals from the first four habitats! And four of those will be brand new legends! Long-time fans… get ready to kick up your favorite decks a notch!
